Think Pink!

One of the silliest movies about the fashion world is, without a doubt, Funny Face, starring Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire.  One of the most memorable numbers from this musical is the opening number, sung by Kay Thompson, called "Think Pink." In honor of the first day of March, which feels like a landmark on the road to spring, I've collected some pink-ness:

  1. Thanks for giving us pink lovers the courage to go public. I feel like it's been my little secret for too long.

  2. Anna - LOL! Like you, pink has been my little secret, on and off over the years. During my retail years I wore (extensively) a pair of baby pink lizard cowgirl boots. They need resoling and the best guy in town has retired, so I'm afraid to wear them, but afraid to get them resoled as well! I'm thinking it might be time to take the plunge. If the new guy wrecks the balance of the heel, they can go back to decorating my dresser...

  4. Funny Face is a gorgeous movie, isn't it? It doesn't get much more glamorous than that!

  5. I love that one dress from Vintage Foe. Is there a name for that style? I call them farm dresses and I know that not right.lol

  6. Hey Lynea, I'm not sure, either. In the 40's there were dresses that women used to do household chores called "house dresses," not to be confused with "house coats" which look more like a glorified bathrobe. I'm thinking "house dress" *might* be the right name. Anybody else got an idea?
